The Central Ohio Damage Prevention Council was created to bring together underground facility operators, governmental agencies, excavators, industry associations, and service providers to address issues related to the goal of reducing damages to underground facilities, to provide cooperation and coordination of construction activities, and to improve communications, involvement, and commitment to these goals.

The Northwest Ohio Damage Prevention Council is a proactive network of stakeholders involved in all phases of activities requiring excavation, including, but not limited to: designers and developers, engineers, safety and notification organizations, municipalities, utility locators, facility owners, and professional excavators. Through open communication, education, and cooperation council members work together to maintain service integrity to customers, protect the underground infrastructure and environment, and encourage the development of excavation activities that proceed in a safe and efficient manner.
